CAPTAINS
What is the purpose of having a captain? Our panel of captains have been carefully selected based on their performance, experience and skill set level in the FUSER game. Contestants who have made it onto a team are highly encouraged to share their mix drafts with their respective team captains for feedback on how to possibly improve their mixes before submitting the final cut for the Battle Show. Captains will meet up with their team to discuss strategy and/or theme (or no theme if that is your preferred route) to go with before contestants begin working on their mixes.
TEAM DRAFT SHOW – ENTRY AND SELECTION PROCESS
- The submission period will close on May 28, 2022 (Sat) at 8pm PST / 11pm EST. Refer to the ‘How to Enter the Draft Show’ section below for further instructions.
- All submissions will make it onto the draft show (Organizers reserve the right to change this depending on the final number of submissions).
- There will be four (4) captains on the show. Each captain will get to choose four (4)* contestants each from the pool of submissions to be on their team (16** contestants in total will make it onto the Battle Show).
- All mixes submitted by contestants will be treated on the draft show as a blind audition. Each contestant will be assigned a random word by MrsSpitFire as their on-screen name. Captains will not know who the mix belongs to.
- During the Draft Show, each captain is allowed to use a Wild Card*** once to automatically put a contestant on his team. If two or more captains use their Wild Card on the same contestant, the power then shifts to the contestant (this is when the contestant who created the mix is revealed) to choose which captain they want to work with. If no captain uses their Wild Card, the contestant will be put into the waiting pool. The Wild Card is deemed as unused if the contestant does not end up on the captain’s team, which means the captain can continue using his Wild Card until he manages to get a chosen contestant onto his team.
- After all submission mixes have been played, the captains will take a short break and decide which of the mixes they heard (contestants that are currently in the waiting pool) that they want to have on their team. Contestant names will only be revealed to both captains and audience AFTER the captains have selected their chosen mixes. This will be done live at the end of the Draft Show.
- You can (and are encouraged) to post on social media if you have made it onto the Battle Show.
*This may change base on total number of submission entries.
**The final number of contestants who make it on the Battle Show may change base on total number of submission entries.
***Captains are not required to use their Wild Card.
HOW TO ENTER THE DRAFT SHOW
- Complete a 32-bar mix on Fuser and save it with the title “[your Fuser or Twitch username] – dtbdraft”. There are no required tracks for this mix and it can be any theme of your choosing. Mixes cannot be more than 2 weeks old before submission deadline. Please use a newly created avatar when creating this mix = do not use any avatar(s) that you have been using prior to this.
Custom tracks/mods are not allowed to be used in any of your DTB mixes. If ANY of your mixes are found to include custom tracks/mods, you will be disqualified.

2. Fill out the submission form accordingly. (https://forms.gle/eKnTBjz1URbDxHKP6)
3. A few days before the Draft Show, one of the Organizers will DM each contestant with a random word that has been specially assigned to them. This will be the on-screen name attached to their mix during the blind auditions. For example, if contestant A is assigned the word “button”, we will label and introduce contestant A’s mix as button. Please do not share this with any of the other contestants and captains (or share at your own risk).
4. These random words will be added to a random name picker/wheel which will be used to determine the order of when each mix will be played, which will be selected in real time on the live show.
5. Remember, to continue as an eligible contestant, you will need to join the Discord server and be in the voice chat channel throughout the duration of the Draft Show. If you have issues with this, please DM Aphoticphoton or MrsSpitFire.
Custom tracks/mods are not allowed to be used in any of your DTB mixes. If ANY of your mixes are found to include custom tracks/mods, you will be disqualified.

BATTLE SHOW – SHOW FORMAT
Round 1 (16-bar mix): 4 teams with 4** contestants each
- Your 16-bar mix will be played during Round 1 in order of teams (the order of teams will always be the same for every round). Your turn and who you will be going up against will be randomly selected by the wheel picker.
- Act 1 – One (1) randomly selected mix from each team will be played (4 mixes in total). For example, Alex from Team 1 is randomly selected to go first. Then Blake from Team 2 is randomly selected to go second. Then Taylor from Team 3, and finally Jordan from Team 4. After the four (4) mixes have been played, the voting begins. Captains and contestants will need to DM apleb4life with their votes**** (2 votes each based on order of preference e.g. first pick 2 points, second pick 1 point) and you cannot vote for your own team. Audience will vote***** via the Google Forms link that will be provided (more info on audience voting below). Voting period ends.
- Act 2 – For the contestants whose mix have not been played, one (1) randomly selected mix from each team will be played (4 mixes in total). After four (4) mixes have been played, the voting begins. Captains and contestants will need to DM apleb4life with their votes (2 votes each based on order of preference e.g. first pick 2 points, second pick 1 point) and you cannot vote for your own team. Audience will vote via the Google Forms link that will be provided (more info on audience voting below). Voting period ends.
- Act 3 – For the contestants whose mix have not been played, one (1) randomly selected mix from each team will be played (4 mixes in total).
- Act 4 – The last four (4) contestants’ mixes will now be played (4 mixes in total).
- At the end of Round 1, the seven (7) contestants with the least amount of votes across all teams/acts will be revealed and immediately eliminated from the show.
- GAME CHANGER! Each captain will be able to use one (1) steal****** throughout the entire duration of the Battle Show. Captains can only steal an eliminated contestant who isn’t currently on their team. If two or more captains use their steal on the same eliminated contestant, the power then shifts to the contestant to choose which captain’s team they want to join.
- Steals will need to be used on a contestant before the next eliminated contestant’s name is announced. For example, if Alex is announced as eliminated and another captain wants to steal Alex onto his team, the captain will only have less than a minute to hold up his “STEAL” sign. Once the next eliminated contestant’s name is announce, for example Blake’s name is announced, Alex is no longer eligible to be stolen.
- Note that if a captain has used his steal in Round 1, he will no longer be able to use it in Round 2. The steal is deemed as unused if the eliminated contestant does not end up on the captain’s team, which means the captain can continue using his steal until he manages to eventually steal a contestant.
*This may change base on total number of submission entries.
**The final number of contestants who make it on the Battle Show may change base on total number of submission entries.
***Captains are not required to use their Wild Card.
****Panel and contestants’ votes will account for 80% of the total points received. 1st choice = 2 points, 2nd choice = 1 points. If Contestant A receives 10 points from votes in total (four 1st choices and two 2nd choice), 80% of 10 points will be 8 points. The total sum for Contestant A is 10 points.
*****Audience will need a Google account to vote on Google Forms (link will be provided during the voting period). Audience votes will account for 20% of a contestant’s votes. E.g. if Contestant A receives 10 votes from the audience, 20% of 10 votes will be 2 points.
******Captains are not required to use their steal.
